Incy Wincy Spider” (also popularly known as “Itsy Bitsy Spider”) is one of the most popular nursery rhyme. It is generally accompanied by finger movements coordinated with the lyrics of the nursery rhyme. This joyful rhyme describes how a spider goes up, comes downs and again climbs up the waterspout of a gutter system.”

It was first published in 1920, more as a song for adults in the book “Camp and Camino in Lower California” titled as “Spider Song” with the words “blooming, bloody” instead of “Itsy Wincy”. The actual version of “Itsy Winsy Spider” was later printed in 1947 by the California Folklore Society in the Western Folklore collection. “Incy Wincy Spider” is the Australian and British version.

English version:

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again.
